 About Troy Menard...


Troy Menard served four years on the Captain Shreve Gridiron Club Executive Board-along with his wife Michelle- as a Class Representative.  He worked tirelessly to help promote the Captain Shreve Football program through fundraising activities and by providing manpower whenever needed.  Troy is most remembered for his Jambalaya dish which became the most popular concession food item sold at Freshman/JV games.

The first Gridiron Club pancake breakfast, held in August 2009, was recommended by Troy as a fundraising activity and a fun way to kickoff the 2009 football season. Due to the success of last year's breakfast, the Gridiron Club voted to continue the activity each year.  It has now become a new Shreve family tradition which allows players, coaches, parents, students, faculty, and community supporters to come together for fellowship and fun prior to the start of the regular football season.

After Troy's untimely death during the fall of 2009, the Gridiron Club renamed this event the Troy Menard Pancake Breakfast in recognition of his devotion and faithful service to the Captain Shreve Football Program and Gridiron Club.
